Secure a 10-year renewable EU residence permit through Hungary’s Golden Visa program—starting at just €250,000.
Any non-EU national can apply, provided they meet the minimum investment requirements. You must be at least 18 years old and able to demonstrate clean criminal and financial records. There are no requirements on professional background or language skills.
No minimum stay is required, but you must have a legally registered address (bejelentett lakcím) in Hungary to obtain and maintain your Golden Visa.
• What this means: at the time of application, you’ll need to submit proof of genuine Hungarian accommodation—such as a rental lease, hotel reservation, friend/relative’s invitation, etc.—and register that address with the local municipality.
• Physical-stay: once your residence permit is issued, you may enter and exit the Schengen Zone freely and continue working or living elsewhere without any “days-in-country” requirement. Your permit remains valid as long as your investment and registered address are maintained.
From the moment you submit your complete documentation to receiving the visa card, the timeline typically breaks down as:
• 2–4 months for the Immigration Office to process your residence-permit application (depending on caseload and completeness of your files).
• 1–2 additional months for the card production and delivery.
In total, plan for 3–6 months from start to finish—often faster if all paperwork is in order.
The Golden Visa extends automatically to your spouse and any unmarried children under 18. They enjoy the same travel and residency rights. Parents, siblings or adult children require a separate dependent-visa application under family-reunification rules, which we can assist you with afterward.
